By the golden light of the sun…
The golden hour – that glorious hour of fading light that leads you into the night.
As summer is slowly creeping away from us, the golden hour is getting scarily closer to 5.00pm, meaning the days of leaving the office in the dark are looming just over the horizon. Yes, that is cold, wet, dark, gloomy winter. This scares the bejeebies out of me. I am a summer girl through and through (refer to Black Books for a hilarious yet very accurate description of a ‘summer girl’) – I thrive on the salt water skin, the salt water curls, the loose, floaty dresses and the long, warm days. Seeing coats covering all the dresses on the in-store mannequins is a sure-fire signal that I need to start thinking about going into hibernation (I will be making an exception and taking this delightful French Connection coat into hibernation with me).
I caused a bit of a stir when I mentioned my dislike for winter clothing on Instagram the other day. It just isn’t my cup of tea. Do you live for layering, or do you prefer to flounce around in little more than a bit of light cotton (a la Mon in this post)?
