Dressing up and getting down for a good cause…
On Tuesday evening, I was invited down to La Vie Champagne Lounge at The Crown to celebrate the launch of StyleAid 2015. Cocktail style evenings (or should I say, champagne style evenings) are few and far between in my calendar, so it was lovely to have an excuse, attached to a fantastic cause, to get dressed up for. With very little in my own wardrobe to cater for such events, and even less in my spending allowance to warrant purchasing a new dress for just one occasion, the help of The Library Dress’ dress rental system was just what I needed for the evening! I was up by one new dress, down by only a fraction of the cash I would have been had I purchased a new gown, and plus one big smile! I like to think that my flouncy little dress and 60’s cate eye was a gentle nod to StyleAid’s chosen ‘Go-Go’ theme this year.
The buzzing champagne soiree (sponsored by The Crown, Matso’s and Highgate Wines) was a beautiful way to honour and thank all of the the sponsors, coordinators and volunteers, as well as to celebrate the impending launch of StyleAid 2015 ticket sales. Now in it’s 17th year, StyleAid has raised much needed funds for the support of those living with HIV/Aids in WA, as well as funds to continue research into the cure for HIV.
