Orange is the New Black, Because Blush is So Predictable

Blush seems to have taken over as ‘the new black’, but not for me. I call the shots in my own wardrobe, and I declare that orange is the new black…

Before Pantone declared it cool, blush tones were totally shunned by most. Too feminine, and definitely not in line with the monochrome trend, pink, baby pink and ‘blush’ (as it is so affectionately known) was every trendy fashion bloggers nightmare. Oh how things come full circle…

Those who once declared a strictly monochrome aesthetic have now saturated their feeds with pink and nude. Good, the world needed more pink and I wasn’t equipped to do it all on my own. Now that the once-pink-haters have jumped ship and started to appreciate what has always been a beautiful, feminine colour, the pressure on me to save pink from extinction is far less, and I am focussing my eyes on other colours that could benefit from a little of the spotlight… like orange.

Sure, it can’t necessarily be called minimalist, and I am fairly certain it won’t even ever appeal to the minimalist as blush now does, but I am not minimalist. A bold colour doesn’t frighten me in the slightest, trendy or not.
