It has been a good few weeks, and it is showing in my mood, my work ethic and my smile!

I always start the week in a fantastic mood (something something a brand new week for new opportunities something), so what better time than Monday afternoon to sit back and reflect on a few of the things I am most grateful for at the moment…
I can’t fault the guy… except for that I constantly feel like I owe him things because he does so much for me. I will spare you the sop fest, and just say that I am honestly so lucky and grateful to have someone so kind and understanding!
ALL THINGS SPRING
It is no secret how much I love spring and summer, so it should come as no surprise that anything that reminds me of the coming spring months has me bursting with excitement. Gorgeous fresh flowers; ripe, sweet (and cheap!) strawberries; patches of sunshine in between the rain; and days that are slowly getting longer and longer… it all puts me in the most chipper mood!
Weirdly enough, it has taken a very long time for me to be ok with downtime. As mentioned in a post I wrote earlier this week about working for yourself, your work goes everywhere with you, and if you aren’t spending your spare time working you tend to get the guilts (well, I do anyway!). This weekend, I had the best time hanging out with friends, going on an impromptu date night, meeting the new additions to our friends’ families, and generally just chilling out with the better half. The downtime was most appreciated, and to be honest, I don’t know why I was letting myself feel guilty for enjoying these sorts of things before. Thankfully, I know better now!
MY NEW, TIDY, MALE HOUSEMATE
After having lived with some shockers over the years (including girls who grew all new species of fungi on their unwashed dishes), it is fair to say that I am well over having housemates. When we had to search for a new housemate recently, I was less than impressed… but it turns out my somewhat rushed decision could not have been any better. Our new male housemate is tidier than anyone I have ever lived with, enjoys a chat when he gets home from work, is courteous, and even fixed our intercom and broken down lights. So, in what is a very rare moment, I am declaring my gratefulness for my housemate.
Plain and simple – I am grateful for colour.
In a time where desaturating is trendy, and minimalism is confused with a monochromatic wardrobe, I am so grateful for big bursts of colour. I love nothing more than taking in a vibrant landscape, looking at a fresh, colourful plate full of fruit that I am about to devour, or wearing the brightest coloured skirt that I know will draw the eye! We are lucky enough to live in a world of vivid colour, so embracing it is the least I can do.
