The days are getting longer, the sun is getting warmer and I am getting so excited about all things spring! Read on to see what spring beauty products I am stocking up on…
SHOP THE SPRING BEAUTY PRODUCTS AT THE END OF THE POST
Spring is easily one of my favourite times of the year. The streets are covered in pretty blossoms, the days are getting longer and longer, and we are on our way to beach days and the party season! In saying this, we seem to be suffering through a longer winter than is normal here in WA, with rain and cool temperatures sticking around far longer than hoped. For a little injection of those happy, sunny, spring vibes that I am so eagerly awaiting with the weather, I have been stocking up on my favourite spring beauty products…
Well, it is all in the name (and on the box) really isn’t it…
Although Florabotanica is said to be made up of top notes of mint, and base notes of amber and vetiver, the overwhelming majority of people pick up most on the floral middle notes – rose and carnation. Florabotanica is a fresh, green, floral scent, perfect for the sunny spring weather. Florals for spring? Who would have thought?…
Liquid lipsticks and lip stains are my new best friend! More permanent than a traditional lipstick, the liquid lipstick colour doesn’t budge once dry, even if you are sitting through a meal. The YSL Lip Vinyls don’t dry matte as quickly as some of the other liquid lipsticks I have tried, but I really like the shape of the applicator, and the thick, creamy feel of them… not to mention the gorgeous spring time pink colour!
Sure, a piping hot bath might sound like the perfect winter luxury, but I prefer the idea of relaxing in the tub with the window open for some fresh spring air, and a glass of rosé in hand. Throw some rose petals and a Lush bath bomb in, and you have the perfect recipe for relaxation! If you fancy amping up the ‘spring’ feels, opt for one of the lavender bath bombs or a bright pink bath melt!
More pink! Are you sick of it yet?
I honestly could never get sick of pink… especially when it comes to lipsticks and glosses. The Rimmel moisture renew range gives a subtle sheer colour (in complete contrast to the YSL Lip Vinyl) to your pout, without drying out your lips in the heat. For those who prefer lip glosses, these lipsticks are a nice compromise between gloss and lipstick.
With hints of Sicilian lemon, jasmine, peony and pomegranate, Eros Pour Femme is a slightly sweet, floral scent that will literally linger all day. I pop a little bit on in the morning, and it is still detectable by the end of the day! Florabotanica is fresher in comparison, but the slight sweetness of Eros totally wins me over…
If this candle doesn’t look like spring (which it darn well does), it sure smells like it! I just adore the hot pink glass casing – it reminds me of the gorgeous fuchsia flowers that I used to collect from my grandfathers garden.
Most of my fragrances are quite complex scents, so I actually really appreciate the pared back spring time scents from Chi Chi – sweet strawberry and vanilla, and the fresh and zingy lime and coconut are my favourites! Plus, how can you go past the adorable bottles?!
Although these stylish homewares don’t necessarily have a super floral spring scent, I love their fresh, clean look (and the hint of pinky purple!) to brighten up a space. The reed diffuser works wonders in my large, open office space, and really helps to create a warm, bright, comfortable space!
Launching in stores in October, these new Chapsticks have already got me through the first month of spring. Winter isn’t good to my lips, so these babies have helped to reverse the damage that was done, and will continue to protect throughout the warmer and sunnier months. The tint of the rose and merlot balms is an added bonus!
CHI CHI EYESHADOW PALETTES
Now that the party season is almost on us, I have been playing around a lot more with different makeup looks (which means actually wearing makeup for me!). I have managed to teach myself how to do some pretty smokey eyes and sparkly gold eyes with my new Chi Chi palettes, and I am really looking forward to playing around with the purples, pinks, blues and greens on them!
I keep a bottle of this on my desk at all times. A few refreshing little spritzes during the day not only helps to keep you cool in the warmer weather, but it also keeps your skin hydration levels up. I am a big fan of Jurlique products, and this mist is no exception to that… oh, and it smells fabulous too (just like spring time roses!).
CHI CHI PINK PEACH BLUSH
A healthy, peachy spring time glow is made easy with this little compact. I have been a little too scared to go hard out on the pink blush by itself, but mixed in with the other shades and bronzer, it creates the perfect pinkish glow.
Another beautiful rose scented product, and another product that I have recently realised I need! My dry hands (cheers contact dermatitis) really benefit from a slathering of this natural hand cream, especially if I pop it on before bed and let it soak in over night.
What products are you excited to pull out again (or go and splurge on) once spring hits properly? I am always keen to try new things, so let me know!
