While the northern hemisphere is gearing up for their warm, sunny, beer filled festival season, we down here in the Southern Hemisphere are rugged up to our chins and still freezing our “royal Rastafarian neenies” off. The countless ‘summer sale’ emails and ‘festival style’ look books landing in my inbox are enough for me to seriously consider cranking my heater up to 36 degrees and setting up a blow up pool in the middle of my room (because a holiday to Bali is
so mainstream currently the last thing to be considered on my budget). Despite the epic chills we are experiencing in Perth, the stubborn side of me is insistent on wearing clothing generally reserved for ‘summer festival season’ section of online stores. I am a sucker for fun prints, bright colours and summer cuts.
I have a confession to make. This blouse is piece number 1 of 5 that I picked up from Missguided‘s dedicated festival section. Yes, I have been creeping pages and pages of summer clothes in the vague hope I would be less pessimistic about the cold. Did it work? No. Having some sort of common sense, I did at least go for the long sleeved blouse and a few other winter friendly options. Fear not, there will be no under-bum showing booty shorts paired with tight fluro crop tops here – save that for Circo festival on the weekend. Instead, I am going to take a baby step outside the box and integrate these festival-esque items into my everyday winter wardrobe. Feast your eyes my friends
