Playing pairs with H&M

Revisiting the twin set in anticipation of the opening of Perth’s first H&M store…

The twin set has been on the scene for quite a while now, reinventing itself in many different ways. From the crop and high waisted skirt combo to the power suit – there is always room for a twin set. Heck, most of us were probably rocking them all the way back in the 90’s (Well, I know I was, albeit rather ugly leopard print/curtain-esque floral ones). While there have been some epic two-piece fails for most of us (yes, I will admit, I also had a matching baby pink velour tracksuit), two piece sets are generally pretty fail safe. There is little to no outfit planning required with a matching set, but the ability to mix and match is still always there.

The kimono set is a newbie to me. I am familiar with a variety of the different style sets on the market, but the kimono duo was one I hadn’t yet forayed into. After receiving this H&M two piece – ahead of their Perth launch tomorrow – I have played around with the kimono style a fair bit. A bit apprehensive about the looser style printed ‘wrap’ coat and it’s propensity to appear a little pyjama like, I have been quite cautious in the way I have styled it thus far. In saying that, I am looking forward to getting more comfortable with this set and pushing it further outside of the box! Perhaps a little print clash (because more is more right?) or some crazy accessories might change it up a little… what do you think?

If you want to have a go and play around with some cute little twin sets, check out some of the great affordable options at H&M – opening at Lakeside Joondalup tomorrow morning!
